Want to hang out and watch a game with your friends and family and knit? I do too! Joe, James and I will be attending the Stitch n' Pitch with the Fort Wayne Tincaps on Sunday, June 24 at 3:05pm. I'll be sitting, knitting and cheering on the Tin Caps..... hopefully with many of you!
Parkview Field is home to the Tincaps, and it's a beautiful field in downtown Fort Wayne, Indiana. If you haven't been there before, it's quite a good time. Brent Harring, who is organizing this for the Tincaps said that typically the seats for the knitters are right behind home plate, so that's kinda awesome, eh? When Joe, James and I go, we typically get the cheap seats on the lawn, so this will be a fun change for us.
If you are interested in attending, give an e-mail to Brent Harring at harring@tincaps.com and he can get answer any questions you might have. Or, simply download the order form at the link below- don't send forms or money to me, it all goes to the address for the Tincaps on the order form.
Yo can also stop in the store during one of our upcoming store hours (like tomorrow, Tuesday May 15, 10-4) to grab a form from me to send to the Tincaps. If, when you order your tickets, you tell them that you are with the Simply Socks Yarn Co group, we might even have enough people to get our name on the videoboard! Tickets are $9, but you can get a special package too that includes your ticket, a commemorative tote, hot dog, chips and a drink for $15- that's what I'll be doing. I'd also be having a beer, but in my condition that's not going to happen- maybe a month later. And if you don't see me there, that's simply because the baby (due about a week or so after) decided to come early. But it's likely you'll still see familiar SSYC faces there with their families. I'll be SUPER pregnant at that point, but it's not going to stop me from coming to the game.... though it will stop me from rising from my seat in a classy manner. I'm told that I look like an overturned turtle trying to roll myself out of a position.

I wish I was a whole lot closer than Central Texas! I'd love to go to the Stitch n' Pitch! I hope you do get to the game also.

Wish I could come but the grands will be visiting & Ft Wayne is a bit further than we'd like to take them on a day trip especially since they'll just have taken a long train trip & will be taking a long trip back home about 10 days later. (not to mention their visit to DC as soon as they get home). Maybe next year. I've heard that minor league games ate a lot more fun than the big leagues. I can't see myself paying what they now charge for tickets. When I lived in the city about a mile away from Wrigley Field, I took my girls to games at least a couple of times a year. And, when my daughter was newly engaged & her fiancée visited Chicago after her graduation from UIUC in '98, I took them to a Cubs game. I checked last year (thinking I might take in a game) & bleacher seats now cost more than I paid for box seats just a few rows back from 3rd base in 98!!!!!!!!!
