..but nearly as much as I would have liked. While I did have a few hours to knit, I was only able to complete one of my Herbs n Spices Fingerpaints sock. I really was hoping to get a lot more knit, but apparently I wasn't selfish enough with my time! BTW, the new Fingerpaints yarn is selling quickly, and I've already received a second shipment of it. So if you see one of the 10 colors disappear from the store, just know that it will return shortly. Cherry Tree Hill tells me that they have plenty for now, so I will keep reordering.
I really like how this color knit up in the Jaywalker pattern. I think that the diagonal pattern really shows off the stripes well:
But as I got past the leg of the sock, and started knitting the sole of the foot, I noticed that I also liked how the plain ol' stockinette looked:

Which do you prefer? The diagonal pattern, or the plain ol' vanilla stripe?
While I like the Jaywalker pattern and how it shows off this yarn, I'm thinking that for my next project using this yarn I'll knit a more vanilla sock. Just plain ol' stockinette or a 2x2 rib. Of course, it seems I'm easily distracted lately, starting one project just to get sidelined by something new. But I don't feel bad about this, because as I'm knitting for myself in 2010, I'm letting my own interests guide me, rather than choosing a yarn for someone else and what they might like. And since all these projects are for me, I really don't have a deadline. Especially since the weather has turned and it's no longer sock weather.
