Two more days! TWO MORE DAYS! No, SSYC isn't receiving new yarn, though Opal's Rainforest is coming sooner than expected....IN JULY, I'm told! What I'm so excited about today is the newest Harry Potter BOOK, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince! I'm currently reading the Order of the Phonix to prepare for when I receive my book from Barnes and Noble online (40% off, of course) in two days. I just received an e-mail from them that it's packed and ready in the warehouse. I'm salivating
In honor of this new, and de-light-ful book, I have made this sock. Well, partial sock, because I'm dividing my free time between knitting and reading until the new book comes. So there will probably be a few days (gasp!) without knitting til I get the book done, ' cause once it arrives it's a race to the finish line!
I'm using Fleece Artist's Burgundy and Saffron, and it's knitting up like a dream. I'm just using a 2x2 rib at the top, then stockinette all the way to the toes with this stripe: 2 rows Saffron, 5 rows burgundy, 2 rows saffron, 14 rows burgundy. This is inspired by Hermione's scarf in the most recent film. Which wasn't the even red and yellow stripes, but instead had this look.
Ok, I will grow up now and stop gushing about HP. There are some things that make you forget you're an adult, and HP is one of them for me!
I forget I'm an adult when I'm in line for coffee and other people get theirs before me when I ordered it before they did.
See? That's pretty childish!
